Search by programme or episode title

All programmes requested from the Off-Air service since July 2006 can be viewed on-line (except Open University).

If the programme you want was transmitted before then, untick the ‘only on-line’ box and you will get a list of people who have copies of that recording on VHS or disc.

Which programmes can I order?

You can request any programme from any unencrypted freeview channel if it hasn’t yet been on. We also have a Back-up Service for the channels listed below; you can have programmes from these channels for up to 14 days after they were shown: more info.

How much does it cost?

Your department will be charged £2.50 for a single recording on disc and online.more info.

Can I ask for an entire series to be recorded for me?

Yes, as long as it hasn’t started yet, or the first programme of the series was broadcast within the last 14 days.

Where’s a good place to go on the web for programme information?

There is a TV & Radio database at www.TRILT.ac.uk that has information on programme content from 1995 onwards.

NB: The backup service advertised there is not intended as a substitute for requesting programmes through us.

What are my obligations?

Programmes we record for you must only be used for educational purposes. You can copy any ERA or CDPA(1988) recording an unlimited number of times and edit it as long as you don’t change its meaning. You should label each ERA recording with its title, transmission date, channel and the words ’This recording is to be used only for educational and non-commercial purposes under the terms of the ERA licence’ If you use the programme in electronic form you must acknowledge it in the same way.

If you use Open University recordings you may neither edit nor copy them.
